Privacy policy

The Japan Matcha Association(hereafter referred to as "our association".) has established the following privacy policy(hereinafter referred to as "this policy".) regarding the handling of users' personal information for the services provided on this website(hereinafter referred to as "this service".).

Article 1: Personal Information

"Personal information" refers to "personal information" as defined in the Personal Information Protection Law, and refers to information about a living individual that can identify the specific individual by name, date of birth, address, telephone number, contact information, and other descriptions, etc., contained in the information, as well as information that can identify the specific individual from the information itself (personal identification information) such as appearance, fingerprint, voiceprint data, and health insurance policy holder number on the health insurance card.

Article 3: Purpose of collecting and using personal information

The purposes for which our association collects and uses personal information are as follows.

Our association will change the purpose of use of personal information only when it is reasonably recognized that the purpose of use is related to the purpose of use before the change.
In the event of a change in the purpose of use, shall notify the user or publicly announce on this website the purpose of use after the change by the prescribed method.

Article 5: Provision of Personal Information to Third Parties

Except in the following cases, our association will not provide personal information to a third party without the prior consent of the user. However, this excludes cases permitted under the Personal Information Protection Law and other laws and regulations.

  1. When disclosure is necessary for the protection of the life, body, or property of an individual and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the individual
  2. When disclosure is especially necessary for improving public health or promoting the sound growth of children and it is difficult to obtain the consent of the person
  3. when it is necessary to cooperate with a state organ, a local government, or an individual or entity entrusted by either of the former two in executing affairs prescribed by law, and obtaining the consent of the individual is likely to impede the execution of the affairs in question
  4. When our association notifies or publicly announces the following matters in advance, and when our association notifies the Personal Information Protection Committee.

    4. Cessation of provision of personal information to third parties at the request of the individual

Article 6: Disclosure of Personal Information

When our association receives a request for disclosure of personal information from an individual, it will disclose the information to the individual without delay. However, if the disclosure falls under any of the following cases, our association may decide not to disclose all or part of the information, and if it decides not to disclose the information, our association will notify the person to that effect without delay. A fee of 1,000 yen will be charged for each case of disclosure of personal information.

  1. if there is a risk of harm to the life, body, property, or other rights or interests of the person concerned or a third party
  2. If there is a risk of significant hindrance to the proper conduct of our Association
  3. If it violates any other laws or regulations.

Notwithstanding the provisions of the preceding paragraph, in principle, our association will not disclose non-personal information, such as historical information and characteristic information.

Article 7: Correction and deletion of personal information

  1. If a User's personal information held by our association is incorrect, the User may request our association to correct, add to, or delete (hereinafter referred to as ""correct, etc."") the personal information in accordance with the procedures specified by our association.
  2. If our association receives a request from a User as described in the preceding paragraph and determines that it is necessary to respond to the request, our association shall correct, etc. the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. When our association makes corrections, etc. based on the preceding paragraph or decides not to make such correct, etc., it will notify the User of such decision without delay.

Article 8: Suspension of Use of Personal Information, etc.

  1. If our association receives a request from the person concerned to cease use of or delete his/her personal information (hereinafter referred to as ""cease of use, etc."") on the grounds that it is being used for purposes other than those stated or that it has been obtained by wrongful means, our association will conduct the necessary investigation without delay.
  2. If, based on the results of the investigation described in the preceding paragraph, our association determines that it is necessary to comply with the request, our Association will cease of use, etc. the relevant personal information without delay.
  3. When our association cease of use, etc. personal information in accordance with the preceding paragraph, or when our association decides not to cease of use, etc. personal information, it will notify the user of this decision without delay.
  4. Notwithstanding the preceding two clauses, in cases where cease of use, etc. involves a large amount of cost or where it is otherwise difficult to cease of use, etc., and alternative measures necessary to protect the rights and interests of the user can be taken, such alternative measures shall be taken.

Article 9: Privacy Policy Changes

The contents of this policy may be changed without notice to the user, except as otherwise provided in laws and regulations or in this policy.Unless otherwise specified by our society, the revised Privacy Policy shall take effect from the time it is posted on this website.
